The new sizing tool
The sizing tool was rewritten and runs on every page that has a shoe on it. It asks for brand, model and size, adds the shoe to your rack, and shows the recommendation, the size chart and the shop offers together. Shoes you want a size for are listed alongside the ones you own.
A shoe that is not in the catalogue can be requested from the tool, and a size missing from a chart can be reported.
The site, redesigned
Every page follows one design system: navigation, footer, start page, brand pages, shoe pages and size guides. Brand pages embed the tool, show the brand's size charts as tabs, and list the models, searchable and paged. The list of all brands has a search box.
Prices on shoe pages
Prices are read for 34 brands and shown with the offers. Offers without a usable price are not shown.
The community, redone
The community section on a shoe page says how many people own the shoe, which sizes are most common, and what that suggests for you. When the size chart and the community disagree, the chart is used. The community numbers are computed on the server.
The rest
- Size charts carry an "Official" label when they come from the brand.
- Chart fixes for Reebok, Chloé, Wolverine, Fila and Carel Paris.
- Outbound shop clicks without a referer are challenged, which stops bot traffic to shops.
- The old brand addresses redirect to the size guide addresses.
- Missing pages answer 404 rather than 500.
- The terms and privacy policy mention affiliate links.
